the rigor of being consistent

we like many things
some of them we love
and we grow old
and change
and get tired
it's just a matter of time
and there are things we like doing
but we know it's wrong
and there are only two kinds of ways on how to stop
the easy way and the hard way
sometimes we get on the easy way
but sometimes we miss the ride
and without a choice
we tread the hard way
no one wakes up at 7 in the morning sharp everyday
the early-bird sometimes doesn't get the worm
when we take the bus to a place we ought to go to
it means it means something to us that we be there
but when we choose to walk to that same place because there's no other way
no matter how far
it means more
love is without condition
under no circumstance does it reckon whether to radiate or wither
to sin we turn our backs
easily or hardly
both are tests
in this case the harder the better
to sweat is sweeter
i am on a cigarette break
a break from walking because there was no bus today
a break because my legs are leaden
i got to love
i got to get going.

Comments for the rigor of being consistent
haha! i was caught by the title wondering but then when i read:
"a break from walking because there was no bus today"

@%F&^U$*C%^K(~!!!!

i repeat...

haha! [now this is obviously a fake laugh now that it is my second time to post because i am oh-so-sleight-of-hand and slow-of-thought (no such thing, by the way, but yeah, i am one!) that Publish button just went on and clicked itself making me look the fool!!! (quite true actually!)]

either either ways, i was caught by the title wondering but then when i read the climax (hmmm...that didn't sound quite right, hehe):
"a break from walking because there was no bus today" i just found it totally hilarious...

not that i laughed, really...

but what is peculiar is that it is the very fact of being consistent that makes one able to do things right, n'est-ce pas? and that in its rigor it teaches because man is so bloody stubborn. but truly the fault in consistency is that it is unmalleable which paves the way for its own undoing since the rule of nature is change!

still, walking due to the absence of a bus is nothing compared to our parents who perpetually claim to walk 10km to school...and now you take a cigarette break from walking...oh asan ang consistency ngayon? ;P

hmmm...i just realized there was nothing insightful about what i just said... ;P

hi dyan =)

what is this: n'est-ce pas

i agree with this (couldn't be stated better): but what is peculiar is that it is the very fact of being consistent that makes one able to do things right, n'est-ce pas? and that in its rigor it teaches because man is so bloody stubborn. but truly the fault in consistency is that it is unmalleable which paves the way for its own undoing since the rule of nature is change!

anyway, the journey i was talking about is my spiritual journey. the easy way is when i am on fire for the lord. that's when it's not hard to be consistent with my prayers, praises and worship. but sometimes, the fire stops burning and that's when it's hard to be consistent. and that's the real test. i know i have to keep walking despite the bus' absence. but it gets wearisome so i take a cigarette break. i keep taking a cigarette break. yun.

if u wanna know, right now, i am fine. =)

P.S. write again. take back ur cussing ur blog.

..and uh.. i can always delete a comment u post if u want me too. hehe =)

sometimes, in all perplexity, the bus just does not stop in our path; and we are left with only ourselves to carry out some of our most important tasks...and in that kind of journey, it is the destination that matters, n'est-ce pas? and perhaps seeing this as its purpose makes all your trudging with the cigarette breaksworthwhile =D

P.S. do not delete the earlier comments. i would like it to state my symbol of impulsion =D (whatever!)

Romans 7:21-25 "so i find this law at work: when i want to do good, evil is right there with me. for in my inner being i delight in god's law; but i see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. what a wretched man i am! who will rescue me from this body of death? thanks be to god—through jesus christ our lord!"
